Despite an erratic stretch of play that has cost them three losses in their last five ACC games, Wake Forest's Demon Deacons (6-4, 4-3 ACC) go into their league finale against Boston College with a chance to make it to the conference championship game.

It's not the opportunity they would have had if they had been able to get a late score and beat North Carolina State, but it's still a chance.

"You're at the end of the year so you can't help but think about it," coach Jim Grobe said of the unsettled and unpredictable conference race. "I wish we hadn't dropped the game at N.C. State. We had a great chance there. They are a good football team.

"We don't play any bad football teams.
